i’m better known on the internet as rain or ‘textdrivebys’.   i have been on the internet since 1996 – were you around when the thing to be on was AOL 3.0 chatrooms?!  those were the days!

my real name is xenia (i swear!) and i’m mommy to 3 gorgeous, smart and funny boys (ty-14, damien or dame-12 and duke-5), wifey to C – married on 8/8/8 but started dating in september 2004.  i’m sure most of you will do the math so yes, my 2 oldest sons are from a previous relationship but my husband is so awesome and the boys adore him that they consider him dad too.  C & i get along very well with my ex and his wife.  there is no drama and honestly, that is the way it should be.

i was born and raised on Guam till i was 11, spent a year in the Philippines and eventually grew up in long beach, california.  i am part Chamorro, Filipino with a dash of Spanish, German & Chinese sprinkled in.  the Chinese is pretty much non-existent but if you talk to my dad, he’ll insist on it.  my husband is imported from san antonio, texas.  he’s Mexican.  we’re all American – do you want to see our papers?  (BIG JK!  we were both born US citizens)  i turn a scary but very proud 36 in august.  i am celebrating my good life!

i am a fresh college student since january 2010 – recently completed classes for my marketing certificate, still debating on either a business or marketing bachelor’s degree.  management scum (started working at age 14 and haven’t stopped!), lover of art, toys, music, food, fashion, tech and culture. i love taking pictures, one day i hope to be in an art show or have a book or ‘zine out. my family is huge deal to me, i love them so much. we collectively love traveling and staycations – you can find us at art shows, museums, festivals, fairs, concerts, swap meets, the .99 store and thrift stores!  we love keeping busy!

my husband and i have “southern california spots” that we love to frequent and that is very different from the hollywood LA or OC you see on tv shows and movies. san diego, cupcakes & cooking are some other things i love.

i also have a fascination with primordials :)
